This is my favorite 'MARVEL's Avengers'-movie, probably for the same reason -*The Empire Strikes Back*- is my favorite 'STAR WARS'-movie---it's 'the pivotal episode' ... essentially where you find out the story's not about 'the good guys seeking justice- and protecting the innocent-against the bad guys,' but more about 'finding personal peace with the good guys & the bad guys BOTH continuing to do what comes naturally to them.'

Wow. I'm thinking right now that it's the culmination of all comic-book stories ever.! It was ... Wow ... ... ... And it opened my mind to the reality of 'the spiritual' that we thought was 'only imaginary'---what IS imagination ... how is 'everything we think is real' NOT imagined? I mean, we have to "imagine" everything we see, hear, smell/taste and touch---and when we 'see' it with two-or-three of those senses, our brains usually accept it as "reality." ... ... I know it's a bit of a 'tangent' from "reviewing S.I.T.SV.," but a) I've been learning a song by Mercy Me that starts out, "In my imagination, it hits me all the time ..." (Mercy Me is the band who sings that song "(I can only) Imagine," so you can see how that opening line stuck with me), and b) a tagline that the movie's Peter Parker kept telling the new Spiderman (Miles Moralez) was, "It's a leap of faith" (when you gain a new power and you're not sure you're ready to use it). When Miles told Peter that right before he let him go back into the quantum wormhole, it struck me how much the Peter Parker character looked like Scott Bakula (who played the time-traveler in Q UANTUM LEAP)---the movie WAS a cartoon, and Peter Parker was voiced by Chris Pine (who ALSO played the captain of STAR TREK's Enterprise ... hmm, have YOU ever seen Scott Bakula & Chris Pine in the same room?...) Anyway, I think S.I.T.SV. was Stan Lee's last cameo (unless they CGI him in like STAR WARS did with Carrie Fisher in ROGUE ONE), and it ended with what I think was the moral of his whole collection of comic-book stories: "That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed, without a doubt, a real superhero."

SPOILER ALERT ... and not the usual 'spoiler alert,' where I don't tell you anything you don't already know is gonna happen; but something mysterious that will change how you watch the movie (making it a different movie almost ...) See, it weaves smoothly into the MARVEL universe (changing the name of 'the 5 years that people had been gone because of Thanos's snap' from "the decimation" to "the blip"). In fact, the main antagonist whom they call "Mysterio" uses the recent Avengers-activities as a sort of 'cover' for his attempt to fool the world into ... worshiping him? "Mysterio" is a 'character' put-together by a team of Tony Stark''s former employees with their leader----who also ‘plays the part’ of Mysterio … a (fictional) being from a (fictional) parallel universe whose Earth was permanently decimated by the (fictional) Elementals. There … a REAL ‘SPOILER,’ as--before I learned that Mysterio was “fictional” (like Ben Kingsley’s "Mandarin" in IRON MAN 3)--I thought he was really a Thor-level superhero … heck, even Nick Fury & Agent Maria had practically installed him as a member of The Avengers! But do stay for the post-credits scene, as it sets up a major conflict Spiderman will have to deal-with in his next movie (or more).

This episode ... teaches something very important. It's still kinda 'shocking' me ... what we learn: that the Green Orion Slave Girls are the OWNERS.. It's quite simple how they do it ... their pheromones make males extremely susceptible to suggestion and -make females uncomfortable---weakening any female competition while the men mindlessly do whatever the Slave Girls wish. Shows how easy it can be for us humans to devolve right back into monkeys.

Very satisfactory---not just for the little conflict of this (latest?) sequel, but also of a few over-arching conflicts within the whole series!
